A fork penetrates the intestines of a patient after eating a fish meal and cause the eradication of part of it
Fish bites and fruit sowing, however small, may be the cause of a major health problem without our understanding. Perhaps one of the most frequent cases of hospitalization was the case of a person eating a thorn during a fish meal and penetrating his intestines, which led to the removal of part of it during surgery. Ayat Al-Sharif, Assistant Professor, Surgery Department, Assiut University Hospital.
Dr. Ayat al-Sharif said in a special statement to "Day Seven", "The patient came at the age of 80 years, and suffered from hernia hernia is not returned and immediately underwent a process to repair the hernia and during the operation found a thorn penetrates the intestines and graduated from them, For this part of the intestine with the action of an intestinal tract. "
She pointed out that swallowing the thorn in the majority of the time does not result in anything but in the presence of hernia, this led to adhesions between the intestine and narrowing the diameter of the intestine from the inside, which caused the penetration of the fork.
Dr. Ayat Al-Sherif confirmed that this is the second case in the last six months. A woman, 70 years old, suffers from a non-receding hernia, and a thorn penetrated the intestine during the operation.
The surgery was performed by the medical team consisting of Ayat Al-Sharif, a lecturer in the surgery department, Minna Rajai, a deputy in the surgery department, in addition to the participation of anesthesiologists and nurses
